The State of Israel held its national election on 27 October after two unprecedented events – the first was Hamas’ large-scale terror attacks on Israeli civilians in the southern communities and key military bases next to Gaza on 7 October 2023, and the second was war on multiple fronts with Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iran for the last three years. The fact that Israel could hold its due election on time after the period of four years (Benjamin Netanyahu’s government was formed in 2022) is no less of an achievement for Israelis and Israel’s democratic transition of power in these times since it remains in an open war with Iran.
