International geopolitics sees a major transformation when something changes amongst or within the great powers of the time. Great powers are states so powerful that they can build, run or destroy international orders. The United States unambiguously fits this criterion. The primary source of change in contemporary global geopolitics is the internal revolution that is taking place within the US and goes by the name “America First.” What was once a slogan has morphed into a foreign policy doctrine. It is upending world politics. And it invites theorisation.
