Why it matters to India
The Akash Prime trial validates the improved indigenous air defence system’s operational effectiveness in challenging high-altitude terrain, following its proven performance during Operation Sindoor. The successful test of Prithvi-II and Agni-I further strengthens India’s nuclear deterrence with reliable, accurate delivery systems. These achievements underscore India’s growing self-reliance in defence technology and enhance the country’s preparedness to secure its borders.
