India, Nepal security forces to hold annual border talks from Nov 12

What happened:

On November 11, 2025, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) of India and Nepal’s Armed Police Force (APF) announced that their 9th annual coordination meeting will be held in New Delhi from November 12 to 14. The talks will focus on curbing cross-border crimes and improving real-time intelligence sharing. The Indian delegation will be led by SSB Director General Sanjay Singhal, while the Nepalese side will be headed by APF Inspector General Raju Aryal.

Why it matters to India:

The meeting aims to strengthen mechanisms for coordinated border management and enhance mutual trust between the two forces. With the Indo-Nepal border stretching over 1,751 km, ensuring smooth information exchange and joint action against trans-frontier crimes remains crucial. The dialogue underscores India’s commitment to maintaining peace, stability, and security along its open and historically significant border with Nepal.
