 Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, heading an Indian Parliamentary Delegation, arrived in Bridgetown, Barbados, on October 8, 2025, to attend the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) being held from October 5 to 12. The conference, one of the largest gatherings of parliamentarians from across the Commonwealth, serves as a platform for discussions on strengthening democratic institutions, promoting good governance, and addressing global challenges through parliamentary diplomacy.

 During the conference, Om Birla will chair a workshop on “Leveraging Technology: Enhancing Democracy through Digital Transformations and Tackling the Digital Divide” and address the General Assembly on “The Commonwealth: A Global Partner,” underscoring India’s commitment to democratic values, inclusive governance, and global parliamentary cooperation.
