Indian Army Chief meets Ugandan Land Forces Commander to boost defence cooperation

On October 17, 2025, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi met Lieutenant General Kayanja Muhanga, Commander of the Land Forces of Uganda, on the sidelines of the United Nations Troop Contributing Countries’ (UNTCC) Chiefs Conclave in New Delhi. The meeting focused on expanding defence cooperation through joint training, professional military education, and institutional exchanges. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing collaboration under the UN peacekeeping framework and strengthening mutual learning between their armed forces.
