Devendra Kumar is Associate Fellow at the Centre of Excellence for Himalayan Studies, Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Delhi NCR. His research focuses on how states use administrative mechanisms in nation-building and state-making processes in their borderlands. His particular empirical focus is on western China.
