What happened:
On November 12, 2025, the Indian Army carried out Exercise Akhand Prahar in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer as part of the larger Tri-Services Exercise Trishul. Southern Command chief Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth reviewed the operational preparedness of Konark Corps during the drills. The exercise showcased full-spectrum combat operations, including mechanised and infantry manoeuvres, Special Heliborne Operations, coordinated attack helicopter missions, and close air support by the Indian Air Force. Indigenous drones, counter-drone systems and electronic warfare grids were also deployed to enhance battlefield awareness and precision.
Why it matters:
The validation of the RUDRA Brigade marks a major step in the Army’s shift toward modern, agile and networked force structures suited for future battlefields. For Southern Command and the wider Indian military, the exercise underscores growing jointness with the Air Force, the absorption of indigenous technologies, and enhanced readiness for multi-domain operations in the Western theatre. Akhand Prahar reinforces India’s focus on accelerated capability development and operational preparedness amid evolving regional security challenges.
